About the MPF Music Program

Over the last two years, with very generous donor contributions, MPF has supported a music program in Western Port Primary Schools, part of the Western Port Learning Guarantee. This program provides a specialist music teacher to four primary schools one day per week, reaching over 500 children each week. The schools are Crib Point, Tyabb Railway Station, Wallaroo and Hastings Primaries. This program adds enormously to the profound work our schools are doing with respect to changes in the teaching of oral language and literacy as a result of the No Limits and Learning Enhancement Programs.

Thanks to…

Our wonderful musicians, Peter Exton, violin, Mary Allison, violin, Gabby Halloran, viola and Wendy Clarke, flute, who created a wonderful program of Mozart, Dvorak and Foote, the Mornington Peninsula Shire for providing a venue so perfectly suited to chamber music, our volunteers who helped with set up and of course our audience! All funds raised will go towards purchasing instruments for the children in the music program.

MPF is a Public Benevolent Institution with Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 tax status. All donations are tax deductible. In 2017 the George Hicks Foundation made a ten year commitment to fund the operational costs of the MPF. Projects are funded with donations from our wide range of donors.
